FORMER face of Iceland Kerry Katona has opened up about her battle with drug abuse, saying drugs were her "only friend".
Speaking in a candid conversation with Jeremy Kyle on his new TalkTV show, the mum-of-five detailed her messy past with cocaine.
"You know at one point, I was doing cocaine because it was my only friend," she said.
Kerry insists she was "never addicted" to the drug, but says it was the "only thing that was there for me because I was feeling sorry for me".
She would tell herself that she 'deserved' the line of cocaine, adding: "I deserve this line of coke because no one loves me, they are selling stories."
Reflecting on her road to recovery, brave Kerry says she gave herself a "good talking to".
"I had to pick myself up and move myself away and give myself a good talking to," she explained to TalkTV host Jeremy. "It was hard."
She added: "It was hard but I couldn’t live with regret."
Kerry says she was open and honest with her children about her drug abuse, even showing them a film containing images of her using substances.
She told the kids: "I'm going to put this show on for you now and you are going to see things about your mummy that you didn't even know or realise.
"It was heartbreaking. I have been very open and honest with my kids. They know everything."
