"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age," she wrote, "but almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week."
Biles said the experience was made even more frightening because her husband Jonathan Owens was away in Indianapolis for practices at the time.

"This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life," she explained, "especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices."
The 29-year-old said she has spent the week resting in bed while recovering from the ordeal.
"I've been in bed resting this week, I'll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers," she added. "Loooovveeee y'all."
She also shared photos of flower arrangements she received following the health scare, along with a picture of herself resting in bed with her two dogs.
In the bedroom snap, Biles included a screenshot showing her heart rate had reached 126 bpm.
The gymnast has previously spoken about the physical toll elite competition has taken on her body.
Reflecting on the 2024 Paris Olympics in an interview with L'Equipe published in April 2025, she recalled: "I went back to the village, took the elevator and my body literally collapsed."

"I was sick for 10 days."
Nearly a year after winning three gold medals and one silver in Paris, Biles said she still felt lingering effects.
"The other day, we were sprinting in the garden with friends," she recalled. "I had aches and pains for three days."
