Billy Joel has pulled the plug on all future performances, revealing a serious medical condition that's forced the 76-year-old music icon off the stage indefinitely.
In a statement posted to his official social media channels, Joel confirmed he's battling "normal pressure hydrocephalus," a neurological disorder that's already impacted his "hearing, vision, and balance."

"This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances," the statement read, adding that Joel is currently undergoing physical therapy and has been told by doctors to step away from the spotlight to recover.
"Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health," the statement continued. "He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage."

The hitmaker behind "Piano Man" and "Uptown Girl" also issued a personal message: "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."
Concerns about Joel's health mounted earlier this year after a fall during his February concert at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The veteran rocker was mid-performance of "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" when he stumbled backward and hit the stage floor. Bandmates rushed in to assist, but Joel stood up and finished the show like a pro.

Still, fans in attendance noticed something was off.
"At one point, he was using the microphone stand as a cane," one audience member said. "I was really very concerned about him throughout the concert. Before he fell, I said to my friend, 'He's going to fall' — and then he did. The venue gasped when he hit the floor."
