King Charles says his cancer battle is heading in a positive direction, telling a florist during a public outing he's "on the better side" of his health journey.
The 76-year-old monarch, who was diagnosed last year with an undisclosed form of cancer, made the comment while visiting Bradford to mark its status as the UK's City of Culture.

Safeena Khan, a local florist, told MailOnline about her exchange with the king: "He asked me how I was, and I asked him how he was. There was some pleasantries towards the end, but it was a lovely conversation."
Khan said Charles gave her a thumbs up when she asked about his health and added: "I'd like to think I'm on the better side (of my cancer journey)." Earlier this month, Charles also shared some thoughts on staying healthy while undergoing treatment.
During a Buckingham Palace garden party, the king spoke to 22-year-old Stamford Collis, a student who has also battled cancer. "He was asking me about the treatment I have starting in June and spoke to me about food and diet," Collis told The Daily Telegraph. "He also asked me if I had undergone radiation treatment, which I had earlier this year."
The king reportedly told Collis: "It's sometimes about the diet and what you eat. It can help." The comments come as Prince Harry publicly reflected on his strained relationship with his father and the royal family, saying he doesn't know "how much longer" Charles has.

In a BBC interview, the Duke of Sussex said: "There have been so many disagreements, differences between me and some of my family… Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book…
"But you know there is, I would love reconciliation with my family there's no point in continuing to fight anymore, as I said life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff but it would be nice to reconcile."
Charles has continued to make public appearances during treatment and was recently seen attending events with Queen Camilla. His health diagnosis was first revealed in February 2024, following treatment for a benign enlarged prostate.
