THE real reason why Love Island's Olivia Attwood was forced to leave I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has been revealed.
Olivia, 31, wanted to return to camp after she had to leave for a medical issue, but "strict rules" meant she couldn't come back.
Before the show, all contestants had to be placed into a week-long lockdown in a bid to avoid passing around coronavirus.
After the telly star was removed for medical reasons, it meant she couldn’t return after breaking the covid-safe bubble, according to insiders.
"It was felt this would be too much time to spend away from the competition and potentially place her campmates at a disadvantage to her," they said.
They told The Sun: “Obviously viewers at home couldn’t include her in any votes, including selecting them for different challenges during the series.
“Olivia would have been going back in almost halfway through the series, which simply wasn’t fair.
“As frustrating and upsetting as that was for Olivia, who was willing to do whatever it took to go back, she could also see it was an impossible situation.”
ITV declined to comment.
