Lance Bass has called on fans to "practice forgiveness" when it comes to Justin Timberlake in the wake of the explosive revelations in Britney Spears' memoir, "The Woman in Me". The Princess of Pop left no stone unturned in her memoir, where she extensively mentioned her past relationship with Timberlake, following an exclusive Page Six report that Timberlake had expressed concerns about what she might reveal.
In her book, the 41-year-old Spears candidly discussed her ill-fated romance with the 42-year-old Timberlake, disclosing that she had undergone an abortion because he "didn't want to be a father."
Addressing the situation, the 44-year-old Bass shared his perspective, urging fans to adopt an attitude of forgiveness towards Timberlake, much like Britney Spears has.
"Look, everyone has their own opinion," Bass told TMZ on Friday. "I feel like the world is so full of hate right now, and we need to practice a little forgiveness. Britney did. Let's take a note from her. Everyone deserves to tell their story, she did, and I hope the fans can find some forgiveness," he added, emphasizing his intention to read the book.
In her memoir, Spears also claimed that Timberlake had been unfaithful to her with a "very popular" woman, although she did not reveal the woman's identity. These revelations triggered a substantial backlash against the "Cry Me A River" singer, prompting him to disable comments on his Instagram account.
Bass's comments arrive amidst reports that Timberlake is "not at all happy" and has not reached out to Spears since the release of her book. The "Toxic" singer and the former NSYNC member dated from 1999 to 2002, and their relationship came to an end when Timberlake broke up with Spears via text.
A source, speaking to the Daily Mail, disclosed that "Justin has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this, and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her." The source explained that while Spears is simply sharing her perspective, Timberlake is reportedly not content with the situation.
"Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book," the source conveyed. "Doing this book has given Britney life, and she really doesn't care who is offended by anything in it because it is what happened. She was there and lived through it. No one can say anything. She has got this all out of her and is moving on now."
