Fans inside the arena got an early hint when promotional graphics featuring Cardi appeared on the venue's jumbotron.
According to Billboard, media members and team personnel were also seen running tests on the lighting and graphics planned for the halftime performance.
The game marks a historic night for Madison Square Garden, which is hosting an NBA Finals matchup for the first time in 26 years.
