Nara Smith has revealed her two-year-old daughter Whimsy Lou was diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent chemotherapy after the disease spread.
The 24-year-old influencer shared the emotional update in an Instagram video, explaining why she has been posting less while her family focused on Whimsy's treatment.

"There's no easy way to say this but late last year our daughter Whimsy got diagnosed with cancer," she told followers.
Nara said she and husband Lucky Blue Smith first took Whimsy to the emergency room after noticing something suspicious, but doctors were initially unable to determine what was wrong.

"We took her to our pediatrician and he went really quiet and calm, my heart dropped in the moment. I don't know if my gut was telling me something but the first thing I felt was that she had cancer."
After undergoing tests, X-rays and a biopsy, the family learned the cancer had spread and Whimsy needed to begin chemotherapy immediately.
The couple, who are also parents to Slim, four, Rumble, five, and Fawnie, nine months, were navigating the diagnosis shortly after welcoming their youngest child.

"Having found all of this out and navigating this while postpartum, also loving and caring for our other kids at home, also being in the hospital with Whimsy a lot and balancing work on top of that has been really challenging," Nara said.
"A lot of you have probably realized that I've been posting a little less and this is the reason why."
She added, "Some days are a little easier, some days are really hard, and all I can do is try my best and show up in all those areas in the best way that I can."

Nara ended her post by thanking the medical staff who helped care for her daughter throughout the family's journey.
She captioned the video, "Thankful for each and every nurse and doctor along our journey who helped us get through and out the other end."
Nara did not reveal the type of cancer Whimsy was diagnosed with or provide an update on her current health.
