Taylor Swift and Harry Styles were romantically entwined from 2012 to 2013, and it was the following year that the "Bad Blood" singer unveiled her album "1989." In this new release from the 33-year-old songwriter, it appears that she subtly alludes to two pivotal moments from their relationship.

The lyrics in the new track allude to an incident where one of Swift's former flames "lost control," resulting in "red blood [and] white snow." Interestingly, in a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Taylor shared details about a snowmobile accident she had with an ex, without explicitly naming Styles. However, at that time, eagle-eyed fans had spotted the 29-year-old singer sporting a bandage on his chin, adding a layer of intrigue to the speculation.

Swift had previously addressed this incident in her song "Out of the Woods," singing, "Remember when you hit the brakes too soon/Twenty stitches in a hospital room/When you started crying, baby, I did too."

Furthermore, in the song "Is It Over Now?" there's a reference to Swift donning a "blue dress on a boat." This lyrical nod harks back to 2013 when a photograph of Taylor Swift went viral as she left a Virgin Islands vacation with Styles, all by herself. In the image, she appeared forlorn in a blue dress and black sunglasses, seated alone on a boat. This particular outing marked the reported end of their relationship, as Styles subsequently began an on-again, off-again romance with Kendall Jenner from 2013 to 2015.

In "Is It Over Now?" Taylor describes her former flame as a "lying traitor" who moved on with models and looked in "every model's bed for something greater" than their past relationship. This line from the song ignited fervent discussions among Swifties on Twitter.

One fan exclaimed, "HARRY STYLES, WHAT DID YOU DO?" while another tweeted, "22-year-old Taylor Swift calling Harry Styles a lying traitor is my favorite thing in the world."

Since parting ways with Jenner, Styles has dated several high-profile figures, including model Camille Rowe, director Olivia Wilde, and most recently, actress Taylor Russell. In a 2017 Rolling Stone interview, Styles acknowledged Swift's songs about him over the years, characterizing them as an "amazing unspoken dialogue." He also stated, "She doesn't need me to tell her they're great" and emphasized the excellence of her breakup ballads.
