Teen Mom's Kailyn Lowry is expecting once again, having discreetly given birth to her fifth son. Lowry, who is the mother of four sons from previous relationships, has now welcomed a newborn named Rio with her boyfriend, Elijah Scott, and she subtly hinted at this news in July.
This revelation came during an interview on Lowry's Barely Famous podcast with TikToker Allison Kuch, who is currently expecting as well. Lowry disclosed, "I must have got pregnant right before I left." She mentioned her March vacation to Thailand without Scott and said, "And I had no idea."
Lowry shared her experience with Kuch, explaining that when she initially arrived in Thailand, she noticed some changes. "When I got there, I was eating everything. My face was flushed, but I didn't think anything of it because I was like, there's no way. There's no way I am." She also disclosed that she was expecting twins, playfully referring to them as her "permanent souvenirs" from the trip.
During the conversation, the MTV alum discussed her use of ovulation tools to conceive, saying, "I mean, this is my sixth pregnancy, six and seven for me." She added, "And I've gotten pregnant when I'm not actually — like I've tracked my ovulation and I've gotten pregnant on days that were not my ovulation window."
This pregnancy announcement followed closely after Lowry confirmed the birth of her son, Rio, just two weeks earlier. She explained why she had chosen to keep the details of his birth private, saying, "I wanted to be able to tell my own story on my own terms and kind of share what information I wanted to share." Those closest to the couple were aware of the pregnancy and joined them for a low-key baby shower to celebrate their son.
Lowry expressed her gratitude, despite the unexpected news, and emphasized the joy that Rio brought into her life. She mentioned that he had been a source of light in what had otherwise been a challenging year for her, marked by struggles with depression.
