PRO boxer Amir Khan says armed thieves put a gun to his head while stealing his £70,000 limited edition watch in East London.
The 35-year-old sports star was crossing the road with his wife Faryal in Leyton last night (April 19) where he was reportedly robbed at gunpoint.
Thieves stole Khan’s Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph timepiece worth an eye-watering £71,000 from his wrist late last night.
The former unified light-welterweight world champion says two men ran towards him before shoving a gun in his face – demanding the luxury watch.
Tweeting just before 10.30pm, Amir said: “Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton.
“I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily, she was few steps behind me.
“Two men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe.”
Olympian Anthony Fowler showed his support on Twitter, he said: “Glad your ok mate, I was living there until few weeks ago, full of absolute scumbags.
“I couldn’t leave the house without some form of confrontation.”
The 2016 Rio Olympian says he and his wife have since left Leyton after feeling unsafe.
He added: “The mrs didn’t feel safe with the baby, proper full of rats.”
