TWO children are in hospital with serious injuries after a major crash in South Yorkshire that claimed the life of a 43-year-old woman.
Two cars collided head-on at around 3.30pm on Doncaster Road in Barnsley on Monday (April 4).
A blue Peugeot 108 was travelling along the road when it was involved in a head-on collision with a green Ford Fiesta.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 43-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Her family have been informed and are being supported by officers.”
The occupants of the second vehicle, a 29-year-old woman and two children, aged 5 and 12, are currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or may have dash cam footage of the collision or the vehicles prior to the collision happening.
