She was newly single and in the process of separating from her first husband, producer Trevor Engelson.

Three years later she would meet Prince Harry, go on to marry him, and eventually exit the Royal Family.
In 2013, Meghan presented a very different side of herself on screen compared to her current Netflix family lifestyle.
Wowing in a backless black mini dress, she told host Craig, "I got all dolled up for you," before launching into an upbeat conversation about her studies at Northwestern and her previous jobs at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires.

During the segment, which has been reshared on Craig's Instagram account, Meghan also spoke about her father, Thomas Markle, calling him "a DP"—the acronym for "director of photography."
Craig's reaction caused her to pause mid-sentence, before she realised she had used a technical term and added with a few giggles, "I didn't mean to make it sound so industry."
Fans were left impressed by the "young & giggly" rising star, with one commenting, "this is the real Meghan."
