Love is in the air, and it seems like Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce is reaching new heights in his romantic escapades. The 34-year-old athlete has set his sights on none other than pop sensation Taylor Swift, and according to his mom, Donna Kelce, he's over the moon about it!
Donna spilled the details to WSJ. Magazine, revealing Travis's sheer joy in his newfound romance with Taylor. The 70-year-old proud mama exclaimed, "He's happier than I've seen him in a long time… God bless him. He shot for the stars!"
However, the road to romance wasn't entirely smooth. In a candid moment on the 'Today' show in October, Donna seemed less than enthusiastic about Taylor. But fear not, Swifties, Travis had his mom's back! After the interview aired, he made a swift call to Donna, assuring her that she did a stellar job, especially after she initially described spending time with Taylor as just "ok."
During her chat with 'Today' co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, Donna played it coy, claiming she couldn't "tell" if Travis and Taylor were in a "budding romance" because it's "just too new." She added, "I don't like to talk about it. It's just one of those things where everyone saw me. I was in the boxes with her. It's another thing that's amped up my life."
Travis, on the other hand, spilled the beans about how Taylor came into his life. In a revelation that could make Taylor blush, he confessed, "Even though Taylor would 'hate (him) for saying this,' he had 'somebody playing Cupid' and convincing the pop star to reach out to him." Talk about a match made in celebrity heaven!
But that's not all – Travis emphasized the importance of family values, noting, "Everybody knows I'm a family guy. Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley."
