Kim Kardashian looked iconic as she somewhat recreated one of her most out-there ensembles from her Kanye West era.
She stunned fans when stepping out at the Academy Museum Gala in October, wearing a full face covering and dazzling diamonds.

Although not everything was as it seemed, as one jewelry expert exclusively tells OMG-News.com that the gems were fake.

"It didn't give off the dancing refraction of light that you get from diamonds," celebrity designer Matt Harris explained.
I've covered Kim's jewelry at events before and she is no stranger to "faux" jewelry.
"As far as the blue-green stones, they are likely lab created or colored crystal as well."
So what does that value the necklace at?
"If the necklace were crafted of diamonds, you'd be looking at a multi-million $ piece.

"With crystal, under $1000, but it all depends who made it. She seemed unsure when asked about it in her interview with Variety.
"She also mentioned that the mask and the necklace were a last-minute thought.
"No one is going to have a diamond multi-million $ necklace like this lying around for a last-minute wardrobe decision.

"But regardless of faux or natural gems, it's a gorgeous piece."
However, Ian Ross, VP and third generation jeweler with Ross Metals in the NY Diamond District, thinks otherwise.
He told OMG!, "Based off the photos, to me it looks like a mix of emeralds and diamonds varying in sizes.
The diamonds are made up of pear, marquise, and round shapes.
"The majority of the stones look like they are all larger than 1.0 ct each which would make this necklace upwards of 100+ CT total weight.

"The green stones are likely emeralds, made up of lighter and darker shades that give the piece an envious vibe.
"Due to the complexity of the piece, it is likely made in 18K White Gold or Platinum, more durable and higher quality metals than the normal 14K or Sterling Silver.
"Each cluster of gemstones and diamonds would need to be secured with the highest possible quality standards.
"I'd value this piece at roughly $2-3m."
