YouTube was hit by a major outage Tuesday, with hundreds of thousands of users reporting problems as the disruption spread across the platform.
Data from Downdetector showed more than 390,000 reports of issues by 5:24 p.m. PT, with most users saying the app was not working properly.

The tracker also logged more than 10,000 outage reports tied specifically to YouTube TV.
By 5:30 p.m., the number of reported problems had climbed past 470,000 as the disruption continued.
Just three minutes later, reports surged again to more than 570,000 users flagging issues.
By 5:48 p.m., the total had exceeded 700,000, with some users saying they could still search for content but were seeing a blank homepage.
At 5:50 p.m., Downdetector data showed the number of outage reports had passed 900,000.
